‘I Want To Win Premier League In First Season’- Arsenal Boss Unai Emery

Image
Unai Emery has outlined his “aggressive” plans for Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger’s successor looking for his side to chase down the Premier League title in style. The Gunners were, throughout Wenger’s reign, famed for a ball-playing approach which made them one of the most attractive sides in Europe. They did, however, face accusations of being a soft touch towards the end of the French coach’s iconic tenure, with a tumble out of the Premier League’s top four considered to be the costly result of obvious flaws. Emery has every intention of addressing those issues, but the Spaniard will still be sticking to the philosophies which his predecessor worked so hard to instil. Describing his Arsenal blueprint to Sky Sports, the former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain boss said: “Our style with the ball is to be protagonists, to do things with combinations, to control the match with the positioning of the ball. And then, when we have the space, to be aggressive going forward. “Def

The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has alleged plots to implicate him over Tuesday’s blockade of the National Assembly by men of the Department of State Services. Referring to a joint statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu and Mr. Uche Anichukwu, the aide to his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, the News Agency of Nigeria quotes Saraki as alleging that the plot was to also implicate other Peoples Democratic Party lawmakers, including Ekweremadu. He said the Presidency had constituted a panel to review the Police report and submit a final recommendation, adding that information available to them indicated that there were attempts to implicate them. Saraki said, “They want to shield the fact that the previous night before the invasion and up till the early hours of Tuesday, there was a meeting of the All Progressives Congress senators. “And that the plan was for them to be moved in a Coaster bus into the National Assembly complex to purportedly remove us

Football God Ibrahimovic Slams MLS Over Ban After All-Star Game

Image
LA Galaxy striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has criticized Major League Soccer (MLS) on Thursday, for the “ridiculous” rule that caused him to be suspended last weekend after skipping the MLS All-Star Game. The MLS rule stipulates that players who opt not to play in the All-Star Game, must also sit out the next game for their club. That is why Ibrahimovic was forced to sit out the Galaxy’s 2-1 defeat at the Colorado Rapids last Saturday. “It think it is ridiculous, but yeah, no comments,” Ibrahimovic told reporters in Los Angeles. “They do whatever they want. I come from a different world, I come from the real world. “It is what it is. I respect in the end, and I’m sorry for my teammates only that I could not help them in the game. “But yeah, people are interested in different things. They lose on it, and for me it doesn’t matter.”

You Can’t Remove Saraki, Ekweremadu – PDP

Image
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday said the All Progressives Congress (APC) lacked the legislative number and constitutional facilities to remove Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan in Abuja, the party advised the Presidency and the APC to “accept the reality’’. It said that Presidency and the APC, having realized that there was no way they could muster the constitutionally required two-third votes of the 109 senators, representing 73 senators, was now engaged in under-hand tactics. These, according to it, include the invasion of the National Assembly. “Even before then, Nigerians were already aware of moves to use humongous funds to induce lawmakers to trigger crisis in the National Assembly and pave the way for the removal of presiding officers. “Now that they have discovered that there is no way they can achieve their devious intentions, they have commenced

‘Its Time For Man United To Win More Trophies’- Alexis Sanchez

Image
Alexis Sanchez admits “the time has come for Manchester United to win more trophies” as they prepare to open the 2018-19 Premier League campaign. Jose Mourinho’s side ended last season empty-handed, with even the January arrival of the Chile international forward unable to steer them to silverware. They did reach the FA Cup final, where they came unstuck against Chelsea, but more is expected this time around as they head back out on domestic and European quests. Alexis concedes that the Red Devils have to deliver, despite taking in a quiet transfer window that saw no new signings arrive on deadline day, with the 29-year-old having moved to Old Trafford in order to challenge for major honours. He told United Review ahead of a season opener against Leicester City: “The first four or five months were a learning period. Now I want to go all the way, I want to fight for everything. I am preparing myself mentally and physically to face all that lies ahead. “Now that I know my
